A Lazy Day at Flaming Gorge
A Lazy Day at Flaming Gorge
TA Lazy Day at Flaming George
he Puppies are Being Lazy Too!
We have been at the gorge all summer; with the heat wave across the west and the price of gas, we decided to stay in this area. There is lots of free camping, wildlife, and many things to do here and nearby, so we can move from camp to camp and stay here all summer.
This picture shows the canyon under the suspension bridge near Flaming Gorge dam. I love taking photos in this area; I have a complete album of them on my hard drive. I wish I had posted more of them. Maybe someday I will give them their own page.
The gorge is located in the corner of Utah and Wyoming. The reservoir spreads through both states. This makes for a lot of nearby attractions. Fishing is fantastic here if you are into that kind of thing. It's a great place to spend an extended amount of summer. Our warmest day was 87, and that was only one day. The High temp here is about 85 in the summer, perfect for summer camping.
Yesterday we went to Vernal (about 40 miles away). We needed a new mouse; ours had bit the dust, and the left click would not click. I got a mouse with a keyboard to make blogging easier than the laptop keys. Today we are hanging out with our daughter and son-in-law a bit and just doing the weekend lazy. We don't go out a lot on the weekends very much when we are here in case one of our relatives comes up from Salt Lake City (about 200 miles away). We are leaving around the 21st of September because the amenities close down on the 15th. That means no water or sewer dumps, and it is already cooling for the last couple of days. We are moving to a campground in Spanish Fork Canyon near Provo, Utah, for a week or two. We have Doctor appointments in that first week of October. We used to live in Utah and love our doctor, so we return every six months to see him.
See You next time!
